Jerome, AZ hotels and things to do...

If you like sleeping with ghosts in haunted hotels you may want to check out the Jerome Grand Hotel, which was once a hospital. If you're too spooked to stay in haunted hotels, (Jerome, Arizona is known for)... Then come back and see me at the Cottonwood Hotel.

I believe the Cottonwood Hotel is not haunted, even though it is still visited from time to time by what some may call the unexplained. Once in a while a guest will share an experience of a spirit coming and going, but there have been no reports of mischievious activity since the late '90's. I personally do not encourage that activity anyways... And yes, I have had my share of experiences. For more on the history of the Cottonwood Hotel you can and read some ghost stories CLICK HERE.

***Tip on Hotel Rates: Jerome hotel prices are somewhat higher than the historic Cottonwood Hotel's rates. Check our rates at our online reservations. Stay in a whole holiday vacation apartment style suite for less than the price of a Jerome hotel room.

The revived ghost town of Jerome is always a fun visit from Cottonwood, AZ, and it is only 6 miles from the historic Cottonwood Hotel.

Jerome is a touristy, fun and artsy community. Historic homes and old buildings cling to the edge of the narrow winding scenic state route 89a going up and over Mingus Mountain to Prescott. Once a copper mining town during its heyday, Jerome later became a ghost town. Today it is a bustling tourist district. There are wine tasting rooms, great shops, a fine selection of galleries and restaurants.

I always recommend exploring their most popular event, the 1st Saturday of the month, Art Walk. You can print out the Jerome Art Walk brochure HERE.

Jerome is well worth the visit. It is rich with history, has awesome views off the cliff sides, which make for panoramic photographs. The Gold King Mine is a pretty interesting place to visit. Make sure to get Pedro the mule to talk to you. He's a real character. You just gotta' love him!
